Travel Info

At least two weeks before each rehearsal “camp” weekend, you will receive an invitation via text or email, however you elected to sign up to receive membership/audition updates. This invitation will include all vital details relating to the weekend, including the time and location of camp. Please be sure to confirm your attendance at least one week prior to the camp. There will be a separate form for you to submit travel information. If you need to request a pick-up or drop-off from/to a public transit station, you must submit all pertinent information through the RSVP by midnight the Tuesday before camp.

If you have not received a camp invitation prior to the Monday before a camp weekend, please contact us at: info@JerseySurf.org.

If you arrive at an airport or other transportation hub without having confirmed previous arrangements with us, you may be on your own. We do not advise our members, prospective members and volunteers to simply “show-up” without a previously-agreed-upon plan. We are unable to reimburse you for Uber, Lyft, taxi, limousine or airport shuttle services. Our Surf Shuttle is offered as a convenience when volunteer staffing permits. Although we do our very best to help all of our team members, we can not guarantee a free ride to camp under all circumstances.  Proactive and ample communications are essential.

Winter and early spring camps (November through April) are dismissed following our monthly “show and tell” performances which take place at 1PM. Members are dismissed at approximately 2:15PM following final corps meetings, load-out and clean-up. Later spring camps (May and June) are dismissed at the conclusion of rehearsal at 2PM. Members are dismissed at approximately 2:30 following final corps meeting, load-out and clean-up. We depend on the commitment of all of our members to ensure that our obligations to our housing facilities are met. Teamwork is the key to our success.

By Automobile:

Please plan to arrive at the school between 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM on Friday evenings. Registration will start at 7:30 PM and the rehearsal will start at 9PM. There’s always plenty to do to assist in getting things set up, and your help is appreciated. Please do not enter the school until there are staff members present.

By Air / Train / Bus:

Jersey Surf shuttles to and from public transportation centers are arranged exclusively through the RSVP system. You will receive an email confirmation with your pick up confirmation and other contact information based on your RSVP response.

Audition and Rehearsal Weekends:
When possible, the corps will provide transportation at no charge to and from
• Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
AMTRAK — 30th Street Station in Philadelphia (PHL)
• Megabus
— Schuylkill Ave and Walnut St (pick up occurring at 30th Street Station)
PATCO Speedline — Lindenwold, NJ Station (901 N. Berlin Road)
Greyhound Bus TerminalWe no longer offer a pickup from this location due to safety issues at the bus drop-off location. Please contact us to discuss other options if the other listed locations don’t work for your specific situation.

Travelers wishing to use our free courtesy shuttle service MUST be scheduled to arrive BEFORE 9PM on FRIDAY evenings and depart AFTER 5PM on SUNDAY evenings. Please note: The first shuttle usually arrives in Philadelphia between 5PM and 6PM on Friday. We cannot gain access to school housing facilities prior to registration desk opening time. If you arrive early on Friday, you will either need to wait at the transit hub or make your own arrangements for ground transportation to the housing/rehearsal location.

Failure to contact us before midnight on the Tuesday of the week of each camp means we likely CANNOT pick you up. If you request a ride through your RSVP, you will receive an email by midnight Thursday before the camp with specific passenger pick-up instructions and important contact information.

Confirming Your Attendance through the RSVP System:

Regardless of your method of transportation, please make sure you submit your RSVP at least one week before the start of each camp weekend. The staff and administration needs to know these details for menu planning, transit shuttles, rehearsal facilities, music, name tags and many more details… all to provide you with a World Class drum corps experience!
