11334130_10155811071315314_1884160135233591272_oNOTICE: Due to anticipated inclement weather on Monday, May 30, the Noon ceremony will be held in the gymnasium of the Camden County Technical School. Please proceed to the rear of the complex and enter through the swimming pool entrance doors.

Every Memorial Day, we pause from our tour preparations to honor the Americans who served, and continue to serve our country. The metronomes stop, the drill books are stashed away, and the Jersey Surf suits up in uniform to reflect on the meaning of Memorial Day.

Community members, family, and friends are invited to the 5th Annual We The People event this Memorial Day on May 30th, 2016. The Jersey Surf, as well as community leaders and local ensembles, will gather for an afternoon of performance, reflection, and remembrance. Performance lineup, speakers, and other details will be provided later in the spring for this free event that all are invited to attend.

To serve as a backdrop for the ceremony, the Jersey Surf will fly over 500 American flags on the front lawn of the Vokie throughout Memorial Day weekend. Flags are available for dedication in memory of a loved one who served or is currently serving in the military.  For just $19, your flag will fly during the observation and your honoree will be listed in the program booklet. For a greater donation of $39, you will receive the flag that was flown, along with a certificate and listing in the program booklet.
