South Jersey nonprofit brings free, family-friendly community music-making experience to Washington Lake Park on May 9th
SEWELL, N.J. -- Jersey Surf, Inc. will bring its Mobile Music Lab to Washington Township's annual Super Saturday community celebration on Saturday, May 9th, at Washington Lake Park, 626 Hurffville-Crosskeys Road in Sewell. The nonprofit organization will host a drop-in drum circle from 11 AM to 2 PM, offering attendees of all ages a chance to step in, pick up a drum, and make music together -- no experience required.
Super Saturday draws thousands of South Jersey families each year with vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, and community activities. This year, the Interactive Music Lab -- powered by Jersey Surf's Mobile Music Lab program -- joins the lineup, giving visitors a hands-on musical experience woven into the flow of the day.
The drum circle is designed as a drop-by format -- no registration, no commitment, no prior musical background needed. Families, kids, seniors, and first-time players are all welcome to join in at any point throughout the day. Percussion instruments are provided.
"Drumming is one of the most accessible things we do. You don't need to read music or have any training -- you just show up and play. That's exactly the spirit of an event like Super Saturday, and we're excited to be part of it."
-- Bob Jacobs, Executive Director, Jersey Surf, Inc.
