After aging out in 2008, Michael graduated from the Indiana University of PA with a degree in Communications Media. He went on to work full time in Human Resources before his current job as an Emergency Physician Staffing Coordinator in the Bucks County, PA area.
Michael continued marching well after his days on the field with the Jersey Surf. He has performed with multiple world-class winter guards including Top Hats (2008-2010), Onyx (2011-2012), Pride of Cincinnati (2013), and Black Watch (2014), earning multiple championship titles in the process. He is currently instructing two local scholastic programs in Pennsylvania, Neshaminy and Bensalem, with the intent of helping to further expand interest in the color guard activity and share his passion and experience with new generations of performers.
Michael says one of the most notable things about drum corps is its ability to take you outside your comfort zone and push your mental and physical capacity. He says “Being able to expand on your limits has really helped me in my career and encouraged me to constantly test my bounds.” He thanks drum corps through his involvement with the Jersey Surf for providing him with the tools he needed to build his confidence to reach the energized career and positive life he leads today.
