The Jersey Surf is pleased to announce the launch of one of several new enterprises designed to assist the corps in generating much-needed revenue. The “Taste of the Surf“ product line features delicious grilling, steak and smoky barbecue sauces, Picanté Salsa and signature spice rubs just in time for the summer grilling season.
“We’ve launched this new venture primarily as a way for our members to offset their costs of participation in our program as an ongoing fund-raiser, with corps members receiving credit for each sale,” said Bob Jacobs, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Jersey Surf.
“Our plans call for the program to expand and evolve into a more broad-based gourmet gift basket business this fall, featuring a variety of delicious private-label items and cooking accessories perfect for the home cooking enthusiast. We’re also about to release the first edition of our Taste of the Surf Cookbook, a collection of more than 200 favorite recipes from our families and friends. We are grateful to our team of volunteers who have been working diligently to bring this project to fruition and we’re enthusiastic about the opportunities for us to expand this business into a creative and fun entrepreneurial venture which will help to fund the program and increase participation.”
