The Muchachos Foundation Inc. is a Not-For-Profit 501c(3) organization founded by former members of the Hawthorne Muchachos Junior Drum & Bugle Corps.
The mission of the Muchachos Foundation is to advance musical ability, provide scholarships for young people, and participate in a social environment that fosters camaraderie, music appreciation and personal giving. The Muchachos Foundation hopes to assist young people realize their true potential and follow their ambition in Education and the Arts.
During the 2014 Drum Corps season The Muchachos Foundation awarded seven scholarships to active members of competing drum corps.
The President of the Muchachos Foundation, Mr. John Carr, and members of the Board of Trustees are proud to announce that one such scholarship has been awarded to a three-year veteran of the Jersey Surf, Ms. Jessica Myers. Jess is a member of the brass section and is studying music at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.
