Do you miss the call of the open road? Does the smell of exhaust fumes and sunscreen bring back memories of better days? If you’re longing for tour but your marching days are long past, hop on the road with Jersey Surf this summer!

As we make the final preparations to depart on the 2016 Drum Corps International Summer Tour, the Jersey Surf has a few remaining volunteer positions. We are particularly in need of drivers, merchandise staff, and food staff as we travel through Florida, Texas, Indianapolis, and everywhere in between. Hop on for a day, a week, or the entire tour, we would love to have you on board this summer!

Drivers:

If the lure of the open road is particularly appealing to you, we are in need of non-CDL drivers throughout tour (June 30th-August 14th) to operate the corps vans. Volunteers must possess a valid driver’s license, be over 21 years of age, have good or corrected eyesight, and be comfortable driving at night. References and a background check are required.

Merchandise:

If you fancy hanging out in tiki-huts or enjoy making sales, our “souvie” crew wants you! We are in need of volunteers to work on our merchandise team from June 30th-August 14th. Responsibilities include inventory, loading/unloading trailers, handling cash, and customer service. Some heavy lifting and a valid driver’s license is required.

Food Staff:

Can you make a mean casserole, to serve 200? The Jersey Surf is in need of extra coverage on our food truck from July 13th-20th and August 3rd-5th. Although these are the times we are most in need, there are never too many “cooks in the kitchen” and help is appreciated throughout tour. Responsibilities include food prep, cooking, cleaning, and serving. Volunteers must be able to maneuver through the tight kitchen, up stairs, and lift heavy objects.

Housing, meals, and transportation is provided for all volunteers throughout tour. Reimbursement for travel to/from the corps and admission to shows may be available for select positions.
