Jersey Surf Hosts HealthRHYTHMS Facilitator Training in Southern NJ
Earlier this year, the Jersey Surf organization partnered with Remo, Inc. and master drum circle facilitator trainer Frank Thompson for an intensive two day HealthRHYTHMS training workshop in Southern New Jersey. The session brought together educators, musicians, and community leaders who share a passion for using rhythm as a tool for wellness, connection, and self-expression.
Fifteen participants completed the weekend program and earned certificates as Remo HealthRHYTHMS Facilitators. Over the course of the training, attendees explored techniques for building inclusive group drumming experiences, learned strategies for fostering emotional well-being through rhythm, and gained insight into the growing field of evidence-based community music making.
The training represents another step in the evolution of Jersey Surf’s outreach efforts to serve a wider range of people through accessible, life-enriching music programs. The newly certified facilitators will lead Mobile Music Lab drum circle sessions across the region, bringing hands-on music-making to schools, senior communities, and public events.
Through these efforts, Jersey Surf continues its mission to inspire lifelong music-makers and strengthen communities through creativity, collaboration, and the universal language of rhythm.
"Our partnership with Remo is a key element in our strategic plan to increase our ability to serve more people in our region," said Bob Jacobs, CEO of Jersey Surf, Inc. "We have scheduled our next HealthRHYTHMS training session for April of 2026, and are already looking forward to Frank's return and the development of the next class of passionate facilitators to help us 'Share the Love' of what we do with the world."
