Mobile Music Lab Facilitators Complete Village Music Circles Global 3-Day Training
Jersey Surf’s Mobile Music Lab is proud to announce that community music-making facilitators Justin Vedovelli and Mike Mercadante have successfully completed the Village Music Circles Global 3-Day Basic Facilitators Training, an intensive professional development program led by internationally respected master trainer John Fitzgerald.
Designed by Village Music Circles founder Arthur Hull, this immersive training equips facilitators with evidence-based techniques for leading inclusive, empowering group drumming experiences. Over three days, participants strengthened their skills in rhythm-based facilitation, nonverbal leadership, community-building, and creating safe, joyful environments where people of all ages and abilities can make meaningful music together.
Justin Vedovelli, a percussion educator, multi-instrumentalist, and arts advocate, brings extensive teaching, performance, and composition experience to the Mobile Music Lab team. Read more about Justin’s bio here.
Mike Mercadante, a United States Marine Corps veteran, longtime community arts supporter, and dedicated Mobile Music Lab volunteer, contributes warmth, leadership, and a deep passion for rhythm-based wellness. His certification expands the Lab’s capacity to serve seniors, youth programs, veterans, and community festivals with high-quality, inclusive programming.
“We’re thrilled to see Justin and Mike complete this respected global training,” said Bob Jacobs, Executive Director of Jersey Surf, Inc. “Their dedication ensures that our Mobile Music Lab programs continue to inspire connection, confidence, and joy for people across our region.”
The Mobile Music Lab will begin integrating techniques from the training immediately, enhancing sessions offered in schools, senior centers, community gatherings, and wellness-focused events.
