Atlantic City, NJ — February 19–20, 2026
The Mobile Music Lab, a community music-making and enrichment initiative of Jersey Surf, Inc., will participate in the New Jersey Music Education Association (NJMEA) Annual Conference at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Jersey Surf programs will be featured in Booths 417–425 in Hall A, where the Mobile Music Lab will function as a fully operational classroom and interactive learning environment on the exhibition floor.
For an organization recognized for 35 years of excellence in the touring drum corps activity, this appearance underscores Jersey Surf’s continued leadership in music education through accessible, hands-on programs serving students, schools, and communities year-round.
Live Music Technology Sessions on the Show Floor
Music technology educator Colin Bell of Old Bridge Township Schools will present four immersive sessions inside the Mobile Music Lab classroom:
“Hands-On with Music Production & DAWs for Your Classroom”
- Thursday: 2:15 PM and 3:30 PM
- Friday: 12:45 PM and 2:00 PM

Bell, a percussionist, composer, and educator with 25 years of experience, has built a career spanning Drum Corps International performance, public school curriculum design, marching ensemble instruction, theater performance, and film scoring. His work bridges practical classroom teaching with real-world music production and performance.

“Teaching Your Percussion Students Practically & Efficiently”

MarimbaPad™ Practice System on Display
Educators can explore Jersey Surf’s patented MarimbaPad™ mallet percussion practice instrument and meet inventor Rich Klimowicz to learn how the system supports technique development, access, and skill-building for percussion students.
Live Community Drum Circle
The Mobile Music Lab will host a LIVE Drum Circle open to all conference attendees:

- Date: Thursday, February 19
- Time: 5:45 PM
The session will be led by master facilitator Matt Woodson, Director of Community Percussion and nationally recognized teaching artist, joined by the Mobile Music Lab facilitation team. Woodson is an educator, performer, and TEDx alum known for bringing communities together through rhythm-based experiences that promote connection, engagement, and wellness.
School Assembly and Special Event Opportunities
Teachers and administrators attending the conference may schedule spring school assembly programs, drum circles, social-emotional learning-based music experiences, and nutrition education offerings delivered by the Mobile Music Lab team. Programs are customizable to meet diverse educational and enrichment goals.
