Tournament All-Stars to Participate in International Competitive Event
PHILADELPHIA, PA — October 22, 2026 — The Tournament All-Stars Marching Band has been invited to perform in the USA Regional Championships of the World Association of Marching Showbands (WAMSB), an internationally sanctioned competition to be held Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at West Chester University in West Chester, PA.
This performance will be a highlight of the All-Stars’ multi-day summer experience, which begins with rehearsals at Kutztown University and culminates with a featured appearance in the Wawa Welcome America Salute to Independence Parade in Philadelphia on July 3. Student musicians, color guard performers, twirlers, dancers, drum majors, and honor guard members will represent Tournament units from across the Mid-Atlantic region.
“We wanted this project to offer more than just a singular performance opportunity,” said Bob Jacobs, CEO of Jersey Surf, Inc., which is co-producing the Tournament All-Stars Marching Band in partnership with the Tournament of Bands / Tournament Indoor Association (TOB/TIA). “To be invited to a global event like this speaks volumes about the quality of the students and educators in our Tournament community. It’s something these students will carry with them long after the final note of their performances.”
A Rare International Opportunity on U.S. Soil
The July 1, 2026 event is one of the few WAMSB-sanctioned competitions ever held in the United States. With member organizations in more than 30 countries, the World Association of Marching Showbands is recognized for promoting music education and cultural exchange through world-class field and parade competitions.
“The spirit of international friendship and musical excellence is at the heart of every WAMSB event,” said Brian Ingelson, WAMSB USA Executive. “We are thrilled to welcome the Tournament All-Stars to this special U.S.-based championship. Their participation adds something truly meaningful to what promises to be a memorable gathering of global performers.”
Celebrating Students, Schools, and the Arts
The Tournament All-Stars Marching Band was created through a partnership between Jersey Surf, Inc. and TOB/TIA, which collectively serve more than 350 scholastic and independent performing units throughout the region.
“This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for the students in every one of our programs,” said Tim Bean, Business Manager of TOB/TIA. “It’s more than a performance. It’s a celebration of dedication, collaboration, and the power of the arts to bring people together—regionally, nationally, and internationally. We’re proud to be part of it.”
Organizers are committed to making the experience as accessible as possible and have designed the program with affordability, quality, and student growth in mind.
“This is our chance to honor the legacy of Tournament and the people who have built it over five decades,” said Jacobs. “We’re proud to help create something that lives up to that legacy, and inspires the next generation of performers and music educators.”
